    Knowesis is currently seeking an early-career Financial Analyst to join our team in Silver Spring, MD.

    In this role, you will support the Science & Technology Enterprise Integration Division (STEID), Research and Engineering Directorate, Defense Health Agency, providing support to the Senior Financial Analyst to track and distribute funds, analyze budget elements, prepare business reports and briefings, visualize data, coordinate agreements, and conduct reconciliation.

    This work will be performed at the client's location in Silver Spring, MD, and may follow a hybrid work schedule, dependent on the client's determination.

    To be eligible for this position, candidates must have a Public Trust clearance and possess U.S. Citizenship without the need for sponsorship, both now and in the future. Applicants without proof of U.S. Citizenship will not be considered due to the position's security clearance requirements.

    Specific Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:


    Track and distribute funds to various programs and projects within the department of defense, ensuring compliance with federal laws and regulations.

    Analyze budget elements such as commitments, obligations, and disbursements, using financial systems and tools.
    Prepare and present business reports and briefings to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting financial performance, trends, and risks.

    Create and maintain data visualizations such as charts, graphs, dashboards, and tables, using software such as Excel, Power BI, or Tableau.

    Coordinate agreements with internal and external partners, such as other agencies, to support the division's financial objectives and operations.
    Conduct reconciliation of financial data and transactions, resolving any discrepancies or errors, and ensuring accuracy and completeness of records.
    Collaborate with other financial analysts and managers within the division, directorate, and across the DoD.
    Utilize the government's enterprise resource planning system to generate purchase requisitions and monitor status of funds.
    Assist with financial meetings including scheduling, agendas, tracking due outs, and meeting minute preparation.
    Conduct data collection, analysis, and reporting of financial execution data.


    Required Qualifications:
    BS degree in business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited 4-year institution.
    Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
    Proficiency in financial software and tools such as MS Excel or Power BI to analyze financial data.
    Proficiency using MS PowerPoint to create presentations.
    Meticulous approach to data analysis.

    Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn new tools, skills, and processes to accomplish analytical and business tasks, and enhance work efficiency and quality.

    Minimum of 1 year Internship, project, and/or job experience involving budget, financial, or accounting data analysis.


    Preferred Qualifications:
    Knowledge or experience in Department of Defense financial systems
    Knowledge or experience in DoD or federal institutions engaged in the management of research or development


    Education:
    Minimum BS degree in business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
