    Operations Technician 1 (O)

    **Shift is during the night, Tuesday to Friday from 9pm to 7:30am***

    The Operations Technician 1 (O) role is an entry-level position focused on delivering top-notch 24x7 data center support for both internal and external clients. Key duties include installations, issue troubleshooting, monitoring, and documentation.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with colocation clients to identify and resolve issues effectively.
    • Install and troubleshoot copper and fiber cross-connects as well as cable bundles within data center premises.
    • Conduct Layer 1 cable testing, termination, and testing using different connectors.
    • Document all work in a ticket system to support customer requests and track installations.
    • Handle incoming/outgoing tape backups, rotations, and transfers.
    • Monitor critical systems and support the Facilities Team.
    • Adhere to global policies and escalate events promptly when needed.
    • Execute installation projects, including racking, stacking, cabling, and labeling.
    • Work on varying shifts depending on site requirements, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
    • Lift and move hardware equipment weighing up to and exceeding 50 pounds.
    • Perform other assigned duties such as physical security monitoring, cleanliness maintenance, and shipping/receiving tasks.

    Experience & Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required; experience in an IT environment is a plus.
    • IT certification is preferred.
    • Experience with copper, fiber, and coaxial cable installation, testing, and termination.
    • Proficiency in Windows operating system navigation and system programs.
    • Ability to communicate effectively, possess strong organizational skills, and work well in a team.
    • Security clearance might be needed for customer support.
