    Job Summary

    This job provides leadership and coordination to the signature psychosocial programs and camps as well as professional staff support to other programs.

    Accountabilities
    Plans and implements residential camp for children with cancer. Includes recruiting and training volunteer staff, coordinating medical care for children at camp, and developing activity schedule.

    Assists with a variety of psychosocial programs including the Adolescent Support Group, Family Weekend Retreat, Bereavement Camp for Siblings, Memorial Service.

    Plans and organizes Christmas party for all patients and families of Children's Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders.
    Provides education to community groups about the psychosocial programs and encourages their involvement and support.
    Serves as the primary staff support for a volunteer council. Develops and sustains the volunteer support for the psychosocial programs through the volunteer council.
    Midlands Only Accountabilites
    Coordinates the School Re-Entry Program. Ensures children who need homebound education are registered, and serves as liaison between schools and families.
    Provides activities for children who are waiting to undergo medical procedures.
    Education
    Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
    Experience

    3 or more years in a child related field including experience working with special need children and children under stress, and experience planning and implementing major psychosocial programs.

    In Lieu Of

    In lieu of the education and experience noted above, a Master's Degree and 2 years in a child related field including experience working with special need children and children under stress, and experience planning and implementing major psychosocial programs may be considered.
