    We are looking for an Electrical Motor Design Engineer to join our Pittsburgh (Cheswick) location team, where your electrical designs become reality

    Your Responsibilities:

    You will design and analyze electro-mechanical components and systems, for our power manufacturing facility , EMD (Electrical-Mechanical Division). In addition, you will develop design information for reports, specifications, and drawings. While supporting personnel with product design, fabrication, and testing .

    Your Challenge:

    • Actively design, and engineer , while suppling maintenance support and training for new products and equipment. This will include assessing new and existing equipment to optimize the designs , and any safety, quality, or cost effectiveness concerns.
    • Create designs for new equipment and machinery . Primarily focusing on large rotating equipment like motors, compressors, pumps, turbines, etc. Must be comfortable leading engineering teams through technical issues. Role will also actively support the development of engineering plans for development of new designs and redesign efforts .
    • Assist in the understanding and application of engineering software tools and systems (e.g. Ansys, MATLAB, MATHCAD, Flux2D, etc.) to complete assignments and help grow team.
    • Determines technical objectives and develop innovative, practical solutions to advance technical engineering issues. Provides technical support to failure investigations and bid responses.
    • Design and conduct experiments, to not only collect data, but interpret those results. Position requires the ability to concisely analyze and communicate in test reports.
    • Plans, coordinates, and executes, with guidance, many engineering activities like documenting, reporting, publishing, and making presentations.
    • Performs engineering assignments in a timely manner under minimal guidance of a more senior engineer.

    What you Bring:

    • Bachelor's degree
    • 5+ years' experience
    • Experience with 2D/3D Electro Magnetic Finite Element Analysis (EMFEA/FEA), System Modeling (Mathcad, Matlab, Flux2D)
    • Preferred experience in low frequency electromagnetic FEA software and circuit simulations in MATLAB/Simulink
    • Must be sole US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance.
