    About the Job

    Role and Purpose

    The main role of the audiologist is to provide audiological services to students enrolled in the Arlington Regional Day School Program for the Deaf (RDSPD).

    Job Requirements

    Education and Certification

    • Doctoral degree in Audiology from an accredited college/university required
    • If earned before 2007, a minimum of an Audiology Master's degree is acceptable
    • Texas State License in Audiology

    Special Knowledge and Skills

    • Sign Language Skills, preferred

    Responsibilities

    Main Duties

    • Conduct audiological evaluations including various tests to determine auditory disorders
    • Provide interpretation of assessment results to parents, guardians, and AISD personnel
    • Complete required eligibility reports

    Additional Duties

    • Participate in the ARD committee
    • Coordinate audiological equipment calibration
    • Provide audiological services during summer months

    Instructional Management

    • Provide training on equipment and implications of hearing loss

    School/Organization Climate

    • Contribute to district and departmental goals
    • Promote a positive culture

    Administration and Fiscal/Facilities Management

    • Summarize services in an end-of-year report
    • Collaborate with other agencies

    Student Management

    • Refer students for assessment and treatment
    • Collaborate with district personnel, parents, and students

    Professional Growth and Development

    • Supervised growth and development opportunities

    Requirements

    • Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including a personal computer
    • Environment: May require prolonged or irregular hours and travel
    • Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions, handle stress
