Position Details
Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job
AOS and AOC are open, the department is particularly interested in candidates who can teach Philosophy of Science.
The program also has interest in candidates who can teach one or more of the following:
Philosophy of Religion, Philosophy of Crime and Justice, or Philosophy of Law.
Candidates must also have the capacity to teach at least one of the following courses, with preference for candidates who can teach more than one:
Introduction to Philosophy, Critical Thinking, and Contemporary Moral Issues. Lecturer is a renewable, one-year term positions hired to teach four courses per semester.
Course requirements include a combination of teaching on-campus classes at the main campus in Huntsville, on-campus classes at the Woodlands Center, and online classes, depending on the needs of the academic department.
Lecturers also are expected to fulfill modest service duties for the Philosophy program, such as serving on a committee, advising a student group, or the equivalent.
Educational Requirements for the PositionRequires a minimum of a Ph.
D.
Experience Required for the Position
Graduate coursework or evidence of research in Philosophy of Science is required. Teaching experience as Instructor of Record preferred.
