Position Summary:

The Public Relations and Outreach Specialist leads the Newman Regional Health brand and outreach strategies for defined service areas. You will provide a strategic partnership and thought leadership to directors and executive leadership on marketing and outreach strategies. The Public Relations and Outreach Specialist designs and leads implementation of major marketing and program initiatives. You will manage marketing and outreach for multiple products and service lines and develop strategies to increase business while maintaining alignment with branding standards. The Public Relations and Outreach Specialist will manage the content, messaging and execution of integrated marketing campaigns and programs including the website. You will manage costs within a predetermined budget and participate in cross-functional teams for planning and team collaboration. You will also work with the Emporia Community Foundation to plan and promote the Newman Regional Health Foundation to the Emporia community and surrounding areas. The Public Relations and Outreach Specialist will target grants and public donors to pursue capital budget items. You will oversee all fundraising efforts and act as a liaison between staff, physicians, public, and the hospital in promoting communication and feedback.

Essential Functions:

• Work with the Executive Director of Strategy and Business to develop a long-range plan consistent with the mission and vision statements
• Creates standardized marketing practices/procedures, specific advertising/PR plans to achieve organizational goals
• Oversees the budget process for business development activities
• Plans and writes effective use of media through press releases and participation in community activities
• Directs the planning of the hospital's largest annual fundraiser
• Oversees hospital website content, design, and regulations
• Coordinates all activities of the foundation and maintain communication with the donors
• Design and implement innovative program to identify prospective donors
• Analyzes target market information to identify and recommend effective marketing approaches
• Maintains knowledge of emerging products and services
• Lead survey initiatives and analyze public opinion
• Prepares effective advertising campaigns based on market research
• Remains up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement
  Skills & Abilities
  
• Bachelor's Degree required in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or related field such as Business or Journalism
