Job Summary:
The Network Security Engineer ll will be responsible for providing architectural expertise in the design of network topologies as well as hands-on skills in the configuration and deployment of network firewalls, switches, wireless access points, application firewalls, intrusion detection & prevention systems, and virtual private network solutions.
This position will be responsible for implementing complex, secure networks on case-by-case bases that revolve around the business and technology requirements of customers.
Core competencies include, but are not limited to, network troubleshooting, network traffic analysis and debugging, VPN encryption, and security incident response.
The Network Security Engineer II provides network and firewall support to customers, as well as assistance to teammates through a formal escalation process.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide best in class customer service to Logically's customer baseAdhere to company values while following best practices and operational proceduresEnsure compliance with company policies, procedures, and all contractual and regulatory requirementsManage the status of open tickets/projects and complete technical and operational tasks to address project deliverables efficiently and accuratelyImplement secure networks on case-by-case bases dependent upon circumstantial business and technology requirementsResponsible for implementing appropriate IT security procedures, configuring security software, and implementing security administration functions across multiple platformsResponsible for performing product deployments and assessments as well as making recommendations to enhance and expand the cybersecurity product portfolio of customersCollaborate with the teammates to ensure customer service level agreements (SLA) are metProvide Tier 2 escalated network and firewall support to customersProvide Tier 2 support, engineering, configuration, and troubleshooting for Cerdant's network security infrastructurePerform Tier 2 network troubleshooting, network traffic analysis and debugging, security incident response; implement VPN encryptionLead development and maintenance of network security documentationApply risk management framework to assess cybersecurity risks of network appliances and provide strategic recommendations to bolster security and reduce attack surface while maintaining required operational capabilitiesAssist Network Security Engineers to strengthen technical & professional skillsProvide assistance to lower-level technicians through formal escalation processQualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or relevant experience5-8 years' experience in network architecture and deploymentAt least 2 of the following certifications: CompTIA Security+ CE, Fortinet NSE4 or higher, SonicWall Network Security Professional (SNSP), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)Knowledge ofSTP, LAG, LACP, ACL, LLDP, 802.1X, and NAC protocolsKnowledge of firewall policies, security standards, and managing rulesetsUnderstanding of L2 switching and spanning tree technologiesUnderstanding of network design and troubleshooting techniquesPreferred experience configuring firewall, wireless, and switching products such as Fortinet, SonicWall, Extreme Networks, Palo Alto, Cisco, etc.
