    Reliability Engineer
    Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Reliability Engineer to work in our Mechanical Design and Reliability Engineering department. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our Materials and Fuels Complex with every Friday off.
    The Reliability Engineer (RE) is a Nuclear Research Facility Engineer supporting the Engineering Reliability Program. The RE provides reliability support for equipment and systems at the Materials and Fuels Complex (MFC).

    Responsibilities Include:


    The Reliability Engineer has a technical understanding of the design requirements, system performance criteria, operation, testing, and maintenance of MFC SSCs.

    You will have responsibilities for how INL's nuclear and non-nuclear facilities are maintained such that the risk to the public, co-located workers, the environment, and MFC mission is controlled and remains low.


    The Reliability Engineer performs this role as follows:

    • Support System Engineers (SEs) and Cognizant System Engineers (CSEs) in identifying and analyzing SSC operational trends.
    • Support SEs and CSEs in evaluating system and equipment conditions and determine action to eliminate identified degradation.
    • Participate in equipment Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to assist in mitigation of system and equipment failure(s).
    • Provide working knowledge and support of predictive maintenance technologies (Vibration, Infrared, Ultrasound, Oil analysis, Motion Amplification, and Motor Analysis)
    • Provide and support analysis when a system is suspected of inoperability or degradation.
    • Develop Engineering Calculation and Analysis Reports (ECAR).
    • Help develop Preventative and Predictive Maintenance (PM/PdM) actions to prevent unplanned equipment failure(s).
    • Participate in system and equipment design to ensure achievable reliability and maintainability.

    Qualifications:

    Minimum Requirements:

    PR0300/PR0400:
    Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Manufacturing, etc. Engineering with 5+ to 8+ years of experience.
    This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

    Preferred:
    Knowledge of predictive maintenance technologies such as Vibration, Ultrasound, Infrared, Oil Sampling, Motion amplification, etc.

    Knowledge of Rotating Equipment, Precision Maintenance techniques (agreement, balancing, lubrication, etc.) troubleshooting equipment failures, experience in reading/editing mechanical and electrical drawings.

    Knowledge of many mechanical systems, HVAC, exhaust systems, compressed air, boiler, etc.
    Knowledge of Motors and Motor controls, Power Circuits, PLC programing/troubleshooting, experience in reading/editing one-line electrical drawings and loop diagrams.

    Knowledge of VFDs, power distribution, substation transformers, Arc Flash hazards/regulations and Electrical Code (NFPA-70E)Certification such as Certified Reliability Leader (CRL), Certified Maintenance Reliability Profession (CMRP), Vibration, Ultrasound, Infrared, Oil sampling, etc.

    Salary Grade:
    PR $110,316 - $181,956)/ PR $124,368 - $211,596)
