    Job Description

    The Environmental Specialist ensures ITW Evercoat complies with all relevant environmental regulations and standards. This position maintains a comprehensive understanding of the permits and programs administered by the EPA.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Key responsibilities include developing, implementing, and execution of environmental programs and ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This position will drive continued growth of the Environmental Management System (EMS). Ensures government body compliance and builds excellent relationships within our community.
    • Submitting and managing data that is required for chemical reporting including Chemical Data Reporting (CDR) rule under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), EPCRA Tier I/II Reporting, and Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) Sara
    • Manages site compliance with the US EPA TSCA Chemical Substance Inventory.
    • Coordinate, oversee, and implement RCRA Hazardous Waste management program, including hazardous waste minimization techniques and Bi-Annual Hazardous Waste reporting.
    • Actively manage site Synthetic Minor Air permit and emission reporting.
    • Lead and execute a comprehensive approach to addressing Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) for compliance and reporting obligations.
    • Knowledge and application of National Volatile Organic Compound Emission Standards for Consumer and Commercial Products.
    • Responsible for chemical substance inventory and environmental data sheets.
    • Oversee NPDES compliance, implement SWPPP and SPCC at the Cincinnati Plant.
    • Responsible for environmental agency site visits and inspections.
    • Be the voice of Environmental for all management of change activities including capital projects.
    • Develops and executes all regulatory required training in line with state and federal guidelines.
    • Support and work cross functionally with product stewardship compliance of global regulations of chemical products.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor of Science or Advanced degree in Environmental Engineering or a science/technical related discipline.
    • 3-5 years of direct work experience in an environmental role working for a manufacturing organization to include direct knowledge and work experience with comprehensive chemical manufacturing environments.
    • Thorough understanding of EPA regulations. Ability to interpret State and Federal regulations and applicability to facility to ensure compliance.
    • Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills. Basic knowledge of regulatory systems.
    • Professional certifications, experience with ISO and other industry related standards and Risk Management Plan (RMP) is desirable.
    • Strong written and communication skills.
    • Detail oriented.
    • Ability to work cross-functionally.
    • Excellent planning and organization skills.
