Our client, a pioneering force in autonomous mobility, seeks a Mechanical Engineer to join their BaseOps Engineering team. As a Mechanical Engineer - Serviceability, you will play a pivotal role in driving Design for Serviceability (DFS) initiatives. Collaborating with various departments, you will ensure our products are optimally designed for service and maintenance.Job Title:
Mechanical Engineer - Serviceability
Location:
Foster City, CA
Pay:
$50 - 60/h + Benefits
Key Responsibilities
Partner with cross-functional teams to champion Serviceability, integrating design considerations throughout the product lifecycle.
Evaluate part and assembly designs for hand and tooling clearance, ergonomics, and feasibility of component replacement.
Develop service part release strategy and maintain Service BOM for spare parts planning.
Collaborate closely with engineering teams to integrate components and electromechanical systems seamlessly.
Support the design, development, and validation of specialized tooling used by the field team.
Requirements
Proven experience in mechanical engineering within product design and manufacturing.
Track record of designing and developing products across their lifecycle.
Proficiency in designing for a variety of fabrication and manufacturing processes.
Experience with product and process validation, including tooling and equipment design.
Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills.
