    English Literacy Teacher K-5

    We are seeking a dynamic and innovative educator to join our team of dedicated professionals at Yu Ming Charter School. The successful candidate will be passionate about teaching and committed to fostering a lifelong love of learning in students.

    Yu Ming Charter School is a non-profit, tuition-free public school network located in Oakland and San Leandro, California. Our mission is to empower students from diverse backgrounds to become engaged, outstanding global citizens through personalized and project-based learning.

    Responsibilities:

    • Teach 3 English blocks and 1 intervention block daily
    • Implement Common Core State Standards-aligned curriculum and lessons that promote student-centered learning
    • Personalize instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
    • Assess student achievement and adjust instruction accordingly
    • Use educational technology to support instruction and track student progress
    • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture that promotes social-emotional learning
    • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective instructional strategies

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree or higher
    • California teaching credential or equivalent

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master's degree or higher in Education or related field
    • Experience teaching in relevant grade levels or subject areas
    • Proficiency in Google apps and other educational technologies
    • Experience with project-based learning, social-emotional learning, and personalized learning

    Time Commitment:

    185-day school year with professional development days
