- Creating and leading cross-functional engineering team meetings to address manufacturing issues.
- Identifying emerging manufacturing issues by using first pass yield data and statistical process controls, and defining the problem
- Containing non-conforming or suspect manufacturing WIP
- Purging inventory of non-conforming or suspect material
- Performing failure analysis on non-conforming electrical and electromechanical assemblies utilizing design documentation, manufacturing test data, software tools, and a variety of lab / bench equipment.
- Formulating corrective actions with cross functional teams
- Validating corrective actions
- Taking steps to ensure future prevention of the issues you have addressed
- Manufacturing Qualifications, deviations, and part cut-ins.
- Manufacturing process instructions and test spec updates
- Strong Troubleshooting mind set - an ability to methodically break down a system or process into subparts to identify failures and troubleshoot to a component level. Familiarity with 8D problem solving, Fishbone Diagraming, and the Five Whys.
- Strong sense of curiosity and a willingness to always dig deeper.
- Commitment to organized project/task tracking, and knowledge sharing using tools such as JIRA/Confluence.
- Proven proficiency with use of EE lab equipment including: Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers, Power supplies, and Multimeters
- Ability to read electronic schematics, assembly, and fabrication drawings
- BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering/Science, or equivalent.

- "Self-starter" attitude and comfort in a hands-on environment, where he/she can demonstrate an ability to work with other engineers to influence product design to improve reliability.

Job Description
Primary Function of the Position:
As a member of the manufacturing engineering team, you will work in a dynamic, fast paced, and challenging environment. You will be responsible for supporting production of DaVinci Surgical Robotic systems by applying your knowledge of system hardware, software, and electromechanical assemblies to perform failure analysis of non-conforming material. Your goal will be to improve the reliability and manufacturing yield of these surgical systems.
Essential Job Duties
This position is highly collaborative, and strong communication and presentation skills will provide visibility amongst the engineering, production, and management teams. Your primary responsibilities will include:
