    **Buyer**

    **Allied Mineral Products** is a leading manufacturer of monolithic refractories worldwide. We are seeking a **Buyer** in our Corporate Office in Columbus, Ohio. This position is responsible for the purchase of domestic and import of raw materials, packaging, resale items, supplies and services needed.

    **Qualifications:**

    + Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain or Technical field required, or relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

    + Must have a minimum of 0 3 years of Purchasing or related experience.

    + Must be able to analyze and investigate discrepancies.

    + Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    + Must be proficient with MS Office applications.

    + Previous experience with SAP or similar ERP/MRP experience is beneficial.

    + Experience in the following areas is preferred:

    + Inventory management.

    + Category management.

    + Cost and price management

    + Financial analysis

    + Negotiations

    + Logistics

    **Key Duties Include:**

    + Use MRP to schedule the purchase and delivery of items that the individual is responsible for buying and manage inventory levels to prevent shortages.

    + Maintain a dialogue with suppliers for new products or ideas that will improve cost savings for Allied Mineral Products.

    + Issue purchase orders with the following steps followed:

    + Generate purchase orders in SAP.

    + Proofread the purchase orders once they are created.

    + Place rush orders by telephone and follow-up with email confirmation.

    + When acknowledgments are received, they must be matched to their corresponding open purchase order. The acknowledgment must be compared to the purchase order and any discrepancies, such as price or delivery date, must be questioned.

    + Maintain open purchase order file by:

    + Receive material into the appropriate warehouse as notified by vendors and match to the appropriate purchase orders.

    + Reviewing open purchase orders daily to follow up on past due purchase orders.

    + Resolve any vendor issues with shipment timing, tracking, shipping, and payments.

    + Assist with physical inventories and cycle counts on an as needed basis.

    + Develop relationships and become the primary contact with key suppliers.

    + Manage purchases for multiple facilities across the country.

    + Maintain supplier contracts and utilization.

    + Work with Quality Assurance to resolve vendor quality issues.

    + Maintain accurate data in our systems and reports.

    + Continuously improve the purchasing process.

    + Assist in training and development of the purchasing team.

    + Follow all company rules and regulations.
