    CGI Federal is seeking an AWS DevOps Engineer to join an existing engineering team focused on implementation of financial systems and other services in AWS GovCloud.

    Use automation tools and AWS services to both replatform and refactor existing systems depending on system maturity and customer roadmaps.

    The team is outcome-based with flexible work hours.


    Your future duties and responsibilities:


    Candidate will coordinate and collaborate both with their immediate account-based engineering team and with other account teams with similar project scope.

    Candidate will also have the backing of CGI Federal's partnership with AWS Professional Services.
    DutiesDesign and develop the automated deployment of infrastructure within an AWS Environment using tools such as Terraform and Ansible.

    Install, configure, and maintain third party application servers through automation. Convert current manual operations to automations. Third party tools to include RedHat Open Shift, JBoss, webMethods, and Apache HTTPS. Maintain strategies for just-in-time environment delivery and availability through scheduled and automated deployments.

    Identify, assess, and remediate security findings and vulnerabilities using tools such as AWS Security Hub, Tenable, and Crowdstrike.

    Maintain a high security posture within AWS accounts through automation and secure resource templates, such Amazon Machine Images (AMIs), AWS Secrets Manager, and AWS Certificates Manager.

    Support AWS account cost control through intelligent tagging, monitoring, and reporting of resources.

    Research, assess, and select AWS technology offerings and tools as needed. For example, EC2 scripting vs. Lambda functions, or AWS Batch vs. EventBridge vs. InstanceScheduler.

    Compare and assess AWS tools against third party tools to identify functionality and cost to assist in replatform vs refactor decisions.

    Work directly with federal customer's engineering and operations teams to collaborate on and execute tasks.

    Work independently given objectives and priorities. Clearly document design and implementation decisions. Report status to leadership

    Proactively communicate and collaborate on team huddles, status calls, and troubleshooting sessions.

    Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $94,400 - $165,200.
