- Build and maintain a strong work program and technically proficient team to drive research within the cyber resiliency of Operational Technology (OT), Critical Infrastructure, and Industrial Control Systems (ICS) space.
- Apply knowledge of cyber solutions and effects to promote the most impactful application of resources.
- Working directly with government and critical infrastructure operators to develop requirements for new cyber protection technologies, and perform applied research and development activities
- Translate MITRE's mission and strategy into operations, making it tangible and meaningful to project team while contributing to the NCCoE goal to increase research around infrastructure resiliency.
- Researching, developing, operationalizing, evaluating, and improving OT defensive tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) for detecting and responding to cyber threats,
- Experience leveraging and using MITRE tools to build detection capability and to support hunting the adversary in OT environments,
- Researching and developing OT Cyber Resiliency solutions including developing and operationalizing OT/ICS SCADA cyber defense architectures,
- Provide thought/technical leadership in direct support of the NCCoE
- Typically requires a minimum of years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 8 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 5 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
- 5 years of experience in cyber security and core technical areas (OT/ICS, Resilient Platforms, Trusted Systems, and Supply Chain Risk Management).
- In depth understanding of operating systems, network/system architecture, and IT architecture design
- Demonstrated background in systems engineering and cyber security to support (OT/ICS) systems.
- Track record of innovative thinking with a bias toward action.
- Demonstrated ability to work with sponsors at a senior level to identify key technical challenges and opportunities.
- Strong interpersonal skills as well as effective verbal and written communication skills

- Past leadership experience in task management roles.
- Experience working with electric/gas utilities, manufacturing companies, or water utilities.
- Deep knowledge of cyber threats and analysis methods, and knowledge of intelligence community methods and products.

- Familiarity with the cyber platform and MITRE research efforts in cyber resiliency and security.

Department Summary:
The Applied Cybersecurity Department (P) within the National Cybersecurity Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) (P) seeking Operational Technology (OT) / Industrial Control Systems (ICS) Cybersecurity engineers to support Critical Infrastructure R&D programs.
