We are currently on the lookout for a detail-oriented Automation Engineer II to contribute to the development and enhancement of our client's World Class Manufacturing (WCM) initiatives.
The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing production processes, implementing sophisticated control methodologies, and overseeing distributed control systems in alignment with the organization's core values and objectives.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate on WCM projects, focusing on streamlining production and processing methods and enhancing instrumentation and controls.
Utilize engineering expertise to ensure stable and efficient processes, aiming to minimize variation and address any anomalies promptly.
Lead the adoption and ongoing management of plant automation, electrical, and database systems.
Execute capital projects as required, managing them from inception to completion while adhering to budget and time constraints.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience in a similar role.
A minimum of three to five years of professional experience in Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) and PLC systems.
Experience with electrical process control, instrumentation, and automation, including familiarity with industrial protocols, networking, and database systems.
Proficiency with Distributed Control Systems (DCS), preferably within the paper mill industry or a related field.
A comprehensive understanding of automation and information systems in manufacturing settings and knowledge of relevant codes such as NEC and NFPA-70E.
A collaborative mindset with strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of working effectively across various levels of an organization.
