    Position: 3PL Vice President of Sales, Value-Added Warehousing & Transportation

    Our client is a mid-sized 3PL providing valued-added warehousing and transportation services with facilities in southern California and Savannah GA.

    It seeks to hire a Vice President of 3PL Sales to focus on new business development.

    The 3PL is a division of a larger apparel contract manufacturing company.

    Therefore, it has exceptional knowledge of Retailing for mass merchants, major brands, and direct to store distribution, as well as expanding capabilities in eCommerce fulfillment.

    The company has established customers in Retailing and seeks to leverage 3PL capabilities in casepick and eCommerce fulfillment to pursue additional customer verticals, such as Food (dry goods), CPG, Health & Beauty, Technological, and Industrial.

    Additional services include drayage and freight brokerage.

    The VP of Sales reports to the President with resources for lead generation, marketing, solution design, proposal, and project planning.

    The VP of Sales role requires regional and national travel. The office location could be virtual, but company would prefer location in SoCal or GA.

    This person must demonstrate skills in targeting, lead generation, sales promotion and marketing, direct sales, pipeline and customer relationship management, solution and proposal development, pricing/ costing, and sales training and management.

    direct sales efforts to generate new business for 3PL warehousing and transportation services.

    and execute a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns 3PL capabilities with prospective customer requirements across multiple target industries, including Retailing, Food (dry goods), CPG, Health & Beauty, Technological, Industrial, and related industries.

    prospective customers at the executive level utilizing deep industry insights, contacts, and exceptional sales acumen to achieve sales targets.

    a consultative sales approach to discover customer needs and develop 3PL solutions options.

    with internal resources and directly manage the sales process, including lead generation and qualification, contact management, proposal development and RFP response, presentation and closing.

    marketing efforts to develop sales collateral and presentation materials and advertise across multiple channels, including company website, tradeshows and conferences, industry influencers, digital and social media.

    and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and loyalty, and driving repeat business and referrals.

    and manage the sales pipeline required to meet the annual new business and client retention goals.

    closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless delivery of tailored logistics solutions, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and teamwork.

    have minimum of 5 years direct sales experience in the 3PL industry, including warehouse fulfillment, value-added assembly and packaging, and transportation management services.

    skills and experience in targeting, lead generation, sales promotion and marketing, direct sales, pipeline and customer relationship management, solution design, pricing/ costing and proposal development, presentation and negotiation, and sales training and management.

    of success selling in 3PL VAWD services to various customer industries, such as Retailing, Food (dry goods), CPG, Health & Beauty, Technological, Industrial, and related industries.

    candidates will have experience drafting and signing six and seven figure 3PL VAWD service contracts and managing multi-million-dollar sales accounts.

    to independently manage a sales pipeline of prospects and multiple business development proposals.

    to facilitate and motivate teams to produce innovative logistics solutions that meet customer needs within tight timeframes and contribute to building a positive work environment.

    computer skills with PC-based desktop applications, such as Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Excel), email, and web-based meeting and presentation applications, as well as CRM.

    knowledge of supply chain execution systems, especially for transportation and warehouse management.
    A bachelor's degree in logistics, business, or a related field is preferred but not necessary.
