    The Executive Director is responsible for day-to-day operations and oversight of the hospice multi-site Provider including implementation and maintenance of administrative practices, agency philosophy, goals, and policies which assure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations; coordination and completion of assigned projects to effectively support the immediate and long-range objectives of the hospice Provider.

    • Assumes full responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the hospice Provider, including appointment and oversight of any Provider site-specific operations leaders, such as a site-specific Executive Director.
    • Supervises Executive Directors appointed at hospice Provider multi-site locations.
    • Participates as a member of the hospice Provider Governing Body and facilitates Governing Body meetings that support review and discussion of the hospice Provider pillar activities and operations, including of site-specific information.
    • Oversees and/or directly investigates all patient complaints, and alleged or real violations involving mistreatment, neglect, or verbal, mental, sexual, and physical abuse of a patient.
    • Oversees and/or directly investigates all patient-related sentinel events.
    • Oversees the hospice Provider quality assurance performance improvement program (including multi-site locations), to include use of objective data to improve performance in the areas of improved patient/family care and activities related to patient health and safety.

    License Requirements
    • Must be a licensed physician; licensed registered nurse; licensed social worker; or a Bachelor's degree college graduate with at least three (3) years of documented success in discipline/field of study and a minimum of one (1) year of full time experience in a hospice, home health, or other health care delivery system setting.
    • Three (3) years of health care leadership preferred.
    • Current CPR certification required for Executive Directors who may provide services to patients in the field.
    • Current Driver's License and vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
