    Top small-medium sized proprietary trading firm is looking to hire a talented experienced FPGA Engineer to join it's growing team in New York. This is a small, high impact team composed of experienced hardware engineers who utilize the latest technologies. This will involve working with other engineers, traders, and quants to design and develop next generation end-to-end trading systems.

    The role will involve architecting and designing solutions to accelerate key areas of the firms FPGA applications, where you will own projects end-to-end which requires the use of new low-latency techniques coupled with cutting-edge hardware. You will get the opportunity to work on problems at all levels of the stack, and pioneer new designs and uphold the robust performance of current systems.

    You will need to be comfortable working autonomously and as part of a small team. Financial industry experience is a plus but not required.

    What we're looking for:

    • Bachelor's or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related field
    • 4+ years of commercial experience post-university
    • Experience designing FPGA's using primarily VHDL, Verilog or System Verilog also nice-to-haves.
    • Ideally, experience creating high-performance networking stacks on FPGAs and working with internet and proprietary protocols
    • Proficiency in one or more programming/scripting languages, including C, C++, Python, TCL
    • An open and collaborative working philosophy
    • A desire to develop a deep understanding of how the systems you build fit into the firms trading activities

    Compensation is highly competitive and based on experience. This is a full-time, predominantly in-office position.
