    Current Opportunity:

    The Development Manager plans and implements a development and fundraising program to provide for the short- and long-term fiscal needs of the organization, including, but not limited to, communicating the mission and vision of BuildAbility to the community at large and, specifically, to funding stakeholders, potential donors, clients, and community partners through a variety of marketing and social campaigns. Under the guidance of the Chief Executive Officer, the Development Manager pursues funding from foundations, individuals, and governmental agencies, leads fundraising drives, and drafts grant proposals. The Development Manager performs their fiduciary responsibility to the organization within the ethical guidelines set forth by BuildAbility's Core Values.

    As the Development Manager, you will:

    • Creates an annual development plan based upon the fiscal needs of the organization and available resources; ensures implementation of the plan throughout the year.
    • Plans and implements effective use of marketing through social media, community activities, and annual campaigns.
    • Sets annual monetary goals and budgets according to short- and long-term goals.
    • Maintains a list of potential financial donors, including corporations, foundations, and individuals.
    • Produces innovative and informative program/organization literature for distribution to donors, clients, the public, and community partners.
    • Tracks fundraising performance metrics and adjusts annual plans to maximize successful outreach/social media campaigns.
    • Prepares grant milestone documentation and maintains records of receipts and disbursements of funds.
    • Plans fundraising events that effectively communicate the purposes of the organization.
    • Researches potential sources of grant money and collaborates with the Resource Development Manager and the CEO to prepare comprehensive grant proposals that are aligned with the BuildAbility Strategic Plan.
    • Increase the visibility of the organization through partnerships with local/state governmental agencies, politicians, community-based organizations, and major foundations.
    • Creating program marketing collateral with consistent messaging and visuals.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned by the CEO.

    Salary and Benefits:

    • $75,000 - $85,000 /annually

    Requirements:

    Required:

    • Bachelor's degree
    • Extensive knowledge of fundraising strategies and principles.
    • An innovative approach to maximizing results with limited resources.
    • Demonstrated project development and management experience.
    • Demonstrated experience incorporating broader strategic organizational goals into plan development.
    • Ability to think analytically and discipline to adjust or abandon an idea that is not performing as expected.
    • Ability to communicate persuasively, both orally and in writing.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

    Preferred:

    • At least three years of fundraising experience in the nonprofit sector experience.
    • Knowledge of tax planning principles and techniques that favor charitable giving.
