Strategic Business Systems is seeking a VMware Administrator to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.

This is part of a team that ensures the customer's ability to provide mission critical intelligence and successful use of its information technology (IT) networks worldwide.

This role is onsite in Fort Bragg, NC.


Required Security Clearance:
Top Secret/SCI (willing to sit for CI Poly)

Required Certifications:

Security Environment Certification:
CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent

Required Computing Environment certification:
VMware Certified Technical Associate or equivalent to start


Required Computing Environment certification:
VMware Certified Professional or higher can obtain within 180 days of hire date

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Operate and sustain the on-going daily operational use of a VMware infrastructure including updating, testing and deploying the vSphere and vCenter product releases.

This includes identifying concerns or issues encountered during installation, testing and deployment of new software releases.

Manage and administer physical and virtual servers, primarily Windows and Linux serversSupport and management of server virtualization, server provisioning, physical server maintenance, security compliance and daily operationsManage VMware vSphere, with emphasis on automation, and enterprise storage and backup system administration, installation, and on-going maintenance experience.

Maintain server lifecycle - provisioning, maintenance, and decommissioning of the hardwareMaintain the virtualized server environment via configuration, implementation, management, and support activitiesMonitor the virtual server infrastructure environment's health status, service performance, and utilizationImplement and maintain continuous compliance to information security policies and technical standards, report and remediation of non-compliancesMaintain the security baseline compliance via configuration, implementation, and remediation activitiesApply regular security patches and software updateTroubleshoot, maintain integrity, and configure network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performanceIntegrate new technologies into new and existing systems including the transition and migration of corporate systemsPerform systems administration of desktop and server systems connected to local and wide area networks.

Desktop system management responsibilities involving account monitoring, security, Operating System (OS) installation, and other local area system administration related functionsProvide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systemsManage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systemsProvide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.

Experience with ESX OS, and VMware vCenter, and 6-8 years virtualization experienceDesign, implementation, and sustainment experience in VMware, VDI and similar environments.

Demonstrated experience establishing, maintaining, and executing O&M processes and procedures in support of VMware, and similar environments.

Extensive infrastructure knowledge and hands-on experience with DoD datacenters & infrastructure3+ years of experience deploying and maintaining data center Infrastructure preferably within the DOD.

5+ years of hardware experience to include compute, network, & storage2+ years of experience implementing DOD Security ControlsAbility to provide in-depth experience in trouble-shooting IT systemsBe able to provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated ticketsExperience working large teams of technical professionals

Education Required:
High School Diploma/GED with 8 years of related experience, or associate degree with 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree with 4 years of experienceAbout
