Job description
Position SummaryThe Network Systems Engineer is responsible for supporting and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure, including network systems, servers, end-user equipment, and telecommunications systems.
This role ensures reliable system performance, provides technical support, and helps maintain secure and efficient operations across the organization.Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot PCs, servers, printers, network hardware, telecommunications equipment, software, and databases
Provide technical support to end users for hardware and software issues, both onsite and remotely
Administer and maintain the VoIP phone system, including voicemail and user changes
Configure and manage file servers, print servers, application servers, and domain controllers
Manage backup systems and system imaging processes
Support virtualization environments, including hyperconverged solutions, VMware, Hyper-V, or AHV
Administer Microsoft 365, including email, Teams, and OneDrive
Work with external vendors to resolve hardware and software issues
Recommend hardware and server configurations as needed
Travel to remote facilities when required
Participate in after-hours on-call support and scheduled maintenance
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree preferred, or Associate's degree with two years of related experience, or four years of relevant experience
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems for both workstations and servers
Experience with LAN installation and maintenance
Experience with software installations and upgrades
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 administration
Experience with virtualization platforms
Core Competencies:
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to prioritize workload and anticipate organizational needs
Effective communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Physical Requirements
Regular standing, walking, sitting, and use of hands
Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds; occasional lifting over 100 pounds
Ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing, kneeling, crouching, and balancing
Requires close, distance, and color vision
