    Tidal Basin is the nation's premier provider of integrated preparedness, emergency response management, and disaster recovery consulting services. We are growing our team and have opportunities for Emergency Management Planning Specialists to support a state or local Emergency Operations Center (EOC). This role supports the successful completion of our client's incident objectives and coordinates with partner agencies and ESFs. The Planning Section are responsible for gathering and analyzing operational information and sharing situational awareness. If not a current resident of Hawaii, the ideal candidate must be able to deploy within 24 to 72 hours of assignment. This is a temporary employment opportunity.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Understanding of the emergency management system and how jurisdictions coordinate together during large-scale incidents.
    • Providing strategy and tactical support related to the incident scenario utilizing experience in emergency management planning and EOC support.
    • Providing guidance based on functional experience in incident operations at the level or levels of government commensurate with the scope of the incident.
    • Providing development of plans, procedures and other deliverables as assigned.
    • Providing clear reporting as directed to stakeholders.
    Required Skill and Competencies:
    • Ability to remain calm and poised under pressure, remaining focused when working to meet deadlines.
    • Must demonstrate flexibility, integrity, teamwork, and commitment to mission.
    • Provide excellent written and verbal communications.
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products.
    • Must be willing to work onsite with a client as directed to support operations.
    • Must be able to travel as needed, sometimes to multiple locations daily, as part of your assigned duties.
    Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of educational and/or operational experience.
    • Experience working in an EOC or as part of an Incident Management Team (IMT).
    • Experience working with governmental (local, state, federal) and non-governmental partners.
    • Experience working as part of a Planning Section.
    • Experience researching complex issues and implementing incident objectives with stakeholders.
    Local hire preferred.
