    Description

    What you will do:
    The Material Handler is responsible for managing inventory in a local branch to include the
    physical and systematic (database) receiving and transfer of materials, parts, and packing materials to
    prescribed departments and locations.

    Performs cycle/physical counts when applicable.

    This position is 50% warehouse and 50% computer work. It is imperative that candidates are comfortable using computers. Experience with Microsoft Excel, Outlook and some sort of inventory control software is preferred.


    How you will do it:


    Completes online orders for hardware and other miscellaneous items as required for the Sales & Service Office (SSO) and for the Service and Installation departments.

    Tracks and follows up with vendors and internal partners on expected receipts to determine any delays or extended lead times.

    Communicates these delays to stakeholders as needed.

    Ensures that the warehouse is a safe, organized, and secure facility and takes immediate corrective action necessary to regain compliance when defaults are found.

    Receives shipments physically, verifying contents against packing slip and original order.
    Receives orders systematically, via data entry using Oracle ERP.
    Physically stage material on shelves by Install job using printed Move Orders.
    Physically transfer materials for installs from the warehouse to the technician's trucks.

    Uses Oracle to document transactions on equipment to and from various sub-inventories assuring that the physical inventory and the "booked" inventory in the system match.

    Pulls and issues hardware required for installation and service jobs as required.

    Delivers incoming material not assigned to the warehouse to its proper destination and ensures that the inventory is properly documented into the appropriate sub-inventory.

    Administers and records cycle counts to maintain accuracy in sub-inventories.
    Reports shortages of material and may be required to take inventory of material at periodic intervals.
    Examines equipment returned from the field to determine if it is viable. Process Return Material Authorizations as needed.

    Maintains control logs and copies of all invoice transactions for material procurement and material handling as per federal, state, and local regulations.

    Operates hand trucks and other equipment per JCI EHS guidelines as needed.
    May handle empty skids, pallets, and miscellaneous dunnage, and stack or store as required.
    Uses assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as detailed in JCI Safety guidelines to ensure safety remains the top priority. Examples include but may not be limited to Safety toes shoes/boots, safety gloves, eye protection, and hard hat/bump cap.

    Communicates in a professional and courteous manner, daily with other departments, managers, and co-workers, face to face, phone, e-mail, or other means necessary to provide best in class service.

    Performs other duties as assigned by your manager.


    What we look for:
    High School diploma or equivalent combined education and experience.
    Experience related to Customer Service, Warehouse Operations, Data Entry.
    Proficiency in a Windows operating environment, including email and Microsoft Office software. Tech-savvy is a plus.
    Positive interpersonal skills and decision-making abilities.
    Professional and polite communication skills are needed.
    Strong organizational skills required.
    Ability to work effectively and independently in a fast-paced environment.
    Strong ability to multi-task.
    Ability to operate warehouse-related equipment.
    Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
    Ability to climb a ladder.
    Valid driver's license.
