- Conduct research, gather data, and write grants
- Collaborate with Finance and Administration Director to prepare financials for grant applications
- Ensure timely submission of proposals
- Create and maintain a proposal calendar
- Monitor submitted proposals and provide updates
- Devise an annual grants strategy
- Identify and pursue new grant opportunities through prospect research
- Execute assigned duties diligently
- Alignment with IYT's mission, vision, and values
- Proven success in writing grant applications
- Strong writing and editing abilities
- Detail-oriented, organized, and deadline-focused
- Effective communication and management skills
- Self-motivated and able to inspire and lead others

- Skilled in prioritizing work and meeting deadlines
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
- Minimum 5 years of grant/proposal writing experience
- Experience in nonprofit, foundation, or public agency settings
- Knowledge of federally and state funded grant processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and G-suite

Founded in 2013, Improve Your Tomorrow (IYT) aims to increase the representation of young men of color (YMOC) in colleges and universities. The organization strives to see men of color excelling in education, staying clear of the criminal justice system, and taking leadership roles in their communities. Through dedication and zeal, IYT fights educational disparities and establishes a pathway from college to society.
Position Overview:
Under the supervision of the Development Director, the Grant Writer is tasked with researching and drafting grant applications, managing proposals, and assisting with maintaining the grants database.

Pay Rate:
$80,000-$100,000 yearly based on experience
