    POSITION SUMMARY

    This position is responsible for the overall maintenance and repair of the Burns M. Brady Center. These tasks include basic cosmetic repairs of residential, activity, and office areas. This position is also responsible for preventative maintenance, diagnostic work, and basic repair of facility equipment. The Brady Maintenance Coordinator will also be responsible for facility preparation of KDOC audits, and adherence to local codes and regulations.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:

    • Perform diagnostics, maintenance and repairs to mechanical equipment and systems
    • Plumbing - Responsible for installing and/or repairing pipes, fixtures and other plumbing used for water distribution and wastewater disposal in commercial and industrial buildings
    • Electrical - Knowledge of electrical, instrumentation and electronic maintenance techniques; knowledge of correct and safe usage of electrical and electronic test equipment and electrical codes (NEC, ISA, and ASME)
    • General maintenance including door, window, floor, wall and exterior repairs or replacement
    • Basic cosmetic work on facility, including painting, furniture repair, and fixture repair
    • Follows safe work practices and accident prevention procedures

    QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

    • High School diploma or GED equivalent required
    • Must have a minimum of 4 years' experience in construction or remodeling
    • Must have work experience in painting.
    • Must be able to install and finish drywall professionally.
    • Basic carpentry is preferred.
    • Must have a valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record
    • Ability to work flexible hours and to work independently
    • Ability to utilize electrical testing instruments skillfully and safely
    • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders
    • Moderate to heavy lifting and carrying (up to 50 pounds without assistance)
    • Requires walking, standing, driving, sitting, squatting, kneeling, reaching overhead, bending, twisting, and turning for the better part of 8 hours
    • Must be able to use hand tools and power tools
    • Working Conditions: Several factors, such as dirt, dust, oil, grease, heat fumes, noise, or dampness existing continuously to a marked degree. Exposure to weather for periods of time.
