- Work under limited supervision of nursing and medical staff and with full proficiency to perform duties
- Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
- Observe patients' progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurse or other medical staff.
- Obtain and record patients' vital signs and collects specimens for lab tests.
- Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
- Measure and record patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines, assist patients with range of motion, and draw blood.
- Assist in providing treatments to patients, perform technical procedures such as feeding tube and catheter administration, suture/staple removal, splinting of extremities, and perform ECGs as ordered.
- Coordinate daily activities for assigned unit to include general clerical and administrative support and participates inperformance improvement activities to enhance and maintain personal and department qualifications and standards of performance.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Maintain active certification with in the State of Texas.
- BLS - must have certification within 30 days of hire or transfer into position.
- Five (5) years' experience in acute or long-term care
- Completion of approved CNA or PCT certification required, or may be in senior year of nursing school with less than one semester to complete the nursing program.
