- Serve as a staff athletic trainer for teams as assigned. Provide quality comprehensive care for ALL student-athletes through prevention, evaluation, care and treatment of injuries and illnesses and assist with injury rehabilitation.
- Travel nationally and internationally with the team.
- Compile and maintain injury and treatment documentation for the Sports Medicine Department including injury tracking and reporting.
- Assist with supervision of the Electronic Medical Records.
- Assist with establishing, coordinating, supervising, and monitoring athletic training services to all student-athletes.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Master's Degree in health related field preferred.
- Experience at a major college or university preferred.
- Board of Certification Athletic Trainer with one (1) plus years of experience at a Division One institution.
- New York State Athletic Training Certification eligible by the start of employment.
- CPR and First Aid certified.
- Training in Bloodbourne pathogens.
- Certified in Functional Movement Screening. (Preferred)
- Soft Tissue Mobilization certification. (Preferred)

Syracuse University invites applicants for the Athletic Trainer position. The Athletic Trainer will provide quality comprehensive care for student-athletes through prevention, evaluation, care, and treatment of injuries and illnesses and assist with injury rehabilitation. This includes the screening and referral of student-athletes to team physicians when appropriate. This role will serve as a staff athletic trainer including practice/game coverage and team travel. The Athletic Trainer will be responsible for compiling and maintaining injury and treatment documentation for the Sports Medicine Department, assisting with the supervision and daily operation of the Athletic Training Facilities and assist with the establishment, coordination, supervision, and monitoring athletic training services to all student-athletes.
Athletics seeks someone who can communicate with coaches and athletic department staff on various issues, including but not limited to the Sports Medicine Department policies and procedures, student-athlete status, restrictions, and treatment/rehabilitation, appointment compliance and progress. This role will assist the team physician and staff with the operation of the physician's clinic as well as assist with the upkeep of the facilities, emergency equipment and modalities. Collaboration with other departments - Academic Services, Mental Health, Performance Nutrition, Strength and Conditioning, and Equipment Room is key to providing a positive experience for the student-athlete.
