    IntePros is seeking a Cybersecurity Firewall Engineer to join our client in Reading, PA. This is a hybrid role requiring onsite work Tuesday-Thursday. The ideal candidate is a hands-on candidate with over 3 years experience working with Cisco firewalls.


    Cybersecurity Firewall Engineer Qualifications:


    • Prior 3 years or more hands on experience with Cisco FirePower or ASA firewall platform
    • Advanced skill with network protocol decode using Wireshark or TCPDump
    • Advanced skill with SIEM or Logging Technology (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel, QRadar, etc.)
    • Prefer someone with network security and cloud experience
    • 5-7 years of related experience administering firewall technology
    • Hands-on experience using common network admin utilities and tools (e.g., Wireshark, tcpdump, Solarwinds, netflow, netstat, ipconfig, etc.)
    • Hands-on operation of cybersecurity infrastructure (e.g., Firewalls, Intrusion Detection, Proxies, DNS, etc.) and configuration experience
    • Installation and Operation of Cisco ASA (required) and Firepower (desired)

    Education and/or Training Requirements:

    • Cisco Security technology (ASA and Firepower)
    • Firewall Administration and Operation
    • Advanced understanding of Information Technology
    • Advanced knowledge of network security best practices
    • Advanced knowledge of network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP) and secure communications
    • Familiarity with common hacking techniques (e.g., malware, phishing, etc.) and effective counter measures using firewalls
    • CCNA/CCNP

    Cybersecurity Firewall Engineer Responsibilities:


    • Examines design and operational effectiveness of Firewalls and Intrusion Detection Systems
    • Performs existing firewall rule review and optimization
    • Documents key network communications thru firewalls
    • Upgrades and installs new Cisco Firewall and Intrusion Detection technology
    • Assists with design of new internal network topology, flows, and planned system isolation using firewalls
    • Performs daily network security operations duties including handling service requests associated with firewall rule changes, network intrusion detection signature updates, and Cisco ASA software upgrades
    • Updates standard operating procedures and as-built documentation
    • Provides network security technical assistance for IT projects intended to enable or advance business initiatives
