    Position Information
    The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) seeks a full-time, twelve-month, non-tenure track faculty position. UMES is located in rural Maryland and is one of America's most beautiful campuses.
    The School of Pharmacy is dedicated to developing exemplary pharmacy professionals and scholars who are committed to patient-centered care, lifelong learning, discovery, and service for diverse communities of the Delmarva Peninsula, the State of Maryland, and around the world. Faculty are dedicated and promote a positive work environment. The practice site is in Cambridge, Maryland.

    Responsibilities
    • Provide didactic and experiential education in pharmacy practice, specifically in psychiatry pharmacy and related subjects.
    • Develop/revise course(s) to meet and exceed accreditation standards.
    • Cooperate and coordinate with others in team-taught courses.
    • Develop and commit to scholarly activity; serve on School and University committees.
    • Participate in regional and/or national professional organizations along with peers and students.
    • Develop/maintain a practice that supports interactions with other health professionals; participate in direct patient care.
    • Review, analyze and interpret patient information including health records, medical forms, laboratory work, and records of past medication use, analyze drug usage trends in large databases.
    • Attend rounds or treatment team meetings;
    • May review patient medication profiles, dispense and distribute medication.
    • Document consultations and prescriber interactions, create reports that summarize clinical activity and present them to supervisors, reviewers or oversight panels as requested.
    • Perform formulary reviews as assigned.
    • May provide quality improvement services necessary for accreditation, certification or maintenance of permits and licenses.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications
    • Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
    • Completion of a post-graduate year one (PGY1) residency OR at least three (3) years of comparable clinical experience.


    Preferred Qualifications
    • PGY2 residency in psychiatry.
    • BCPP or eligible to take BCPP certification examination.
    • Experience in providing direct patient care and teaching in both didactic and experiential teaching.


    Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
    • Strong commitment to teaching excellence, student engagement, and research collaboration.
    • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), interpersonal and organization skills.


    Certifications/Registrations
    • Current Maryland pharmacy license or eligibility for Maryland licensure
