Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Commercial & Residential Roofing Estimator to join our growing team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for accurately assessing roofing projects, preparing detailed estimates, and collaborating closely with clients, suppliers, and project teams. Your expertise will help ensure competitive pricing, effective cost control, and successful project execution across a variety of roofing types. Duties
- Review project plans, specifications, and site conditions to develop precise roofing estimates for both commercial and residential projects.
- Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to prepare detailed cost proposals and bid packages.
- Conduct on-site inspections to gather accurate measurements and assess site-specific requirements.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and suppliers to negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts that align with project budgets and timelines.
- Prepare comprehensive bid documents, including scope of work, material lists, labor costs, and schedule estimates.
- Manage cost control throughout the project lifecycle by monitoring budgets and adjusting estimates as needed.
- Coordinate with project managers and construction teams to ensure estimates reflect current market conditions and project complexities.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction estimating with a focus on roofing projects—commercial and residential preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction management principles, contracts, and project management processes.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam for digital plan review and markup; experience with HeavyBid or similar estimating software is highly desirable.
- Solid understanding of roofing materials, installation techniques, and safety standards within the construction industry.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to secure favorable terms.
- Background in construction site experience that supports accurate assessment of scope and costs.
- Familiarity with cost control strategies, pricing methodologies, and contract administration within the construction sector.
