    Job Overview

    The Acute Care Laboratory at M Health Fairview Northland Medical Center in Princeton, MN is seeking a full-time Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) for a generalist position. The laboratory provides testing services for chemistry, hematology, coagulation, blood bank, and limited microbiology.

    Responsibilities

    • Follow established guidelines to obtain specimens and prioritize work
    • Perform a wide variety of complex diagnostic and therapeutic testing
    • Recognize problems and take appropriate measures to resolve them
    • Evaluate testing results for accuracy and appropriate intervention
    • Demonstrate understanding of and commitment to Laboratory Quality Assurance, Performance Improvement and Laboratory Compliance Programs
    • Orient and mentor new employees and students
    • Demonstrate commitment to customers, fellow employees, and Fairview
    • Comply with all policies and standards
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in a related laboratory field or equivalent routes as specified in CLIA '88
    • Possess or be eligible to receive HHS-approved laboratory certification (ASCP or AMT)

    Preferred Qualifications

    • BS in Medical Laboratory Sciences or Medical Technology
    • Good phlebotomy skills
