    Associate Divisional Dean
    • School of Social Work at BOISE STATE UNIVERSITY in Boise, Idaho, United States Job Description Boise State University, powered by creativity and innovation, and uniquely positioned in the Northwest as a metropolitan research university of distinction, seeks a new Associate Divisional Dean to help build on the School's history of success; assist in leading and growing the thriving MSW and BSW programs; and assisting in the support of interdisciplinary, interprofessional, and community engaged teaching, scholarship, research, and service.
    In accordance with the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) Code of Ethics, the Associate Divisional Dean of the School of Social Work helps to provide leadership for the School in coordination and collaboration with the Divisional Dean to assist in establishing School priorities grounded in a commitment to social justice, access, equity, diversity, and inclusion.

    We are particularly interested in applicants with teaching, practice, and research experience with diverse and historically underserved individuals, families, and communities.


    The responsibilities of the Associate Divisional Dean are:

    Serving as an academic leader for the School of Social Work to help maintain standards of academic excellence Mentoring faculty across faculty categories Assisting the Divisional Dean in expanding research, clinical practice, and educational programs, as well as helping to strengthen faculty scholarship and research in the School of Social Work.

    Teaching in the BSW or MSW programs, and maintaining an active research agenda.

    The role of Associate Divisional Dean is a full-time, 11 month, tenured position that reports directly to the Divisional Dean.


    Required Qualifications:
    PhD in Social Work, DSW, or other doctoral degree in a related field Meeting the criteria for the rank of Associate Professor at Boise State University Master's degree in Social Work from a program accredited by the CSWE Two-years of post
    • MSW practice experience An established research agenda as evidenced by a strong record of scholarly publications A demonstrated ability to secure external funding Demonstrated administrative or leadership skills.
    or a closely related field and a Preferred qualifications:

    CSWE accreditation experience a commitment to excellence and innovation in teaching and research ability to support faculty applying for external research grants experience in developing and maintaining successful community partnerships.

    The School Housed within the College of Health Sciences at Boise State University, the School of Social Work prepares graduates in Idaho and the Pacific Northwest for beginning and advanced social work practice.

    The BSW program is offered in Boise as well as Twin Falls, and the MSW program is offered in Boise as well as Coeur d'Alene.

    Our programs are rigorous and transformative, and faculty provide a comprehensive and hands-on education.

    Curriculum includes a liberal arts perspective informed by recognition of the critical importance to social work education and practice of cultural, political, and socio-historical contexts; skills in communication, reasoning, analysis and critical thinking and inquiry; understanding of human behavior; and scientific method.

    Being a part of the College of Health Sciences provides numerous opportunities for collaborative interdisciplinary research and educational programing. Today the School of Social Work has the largest graduate program at the University. The 280 undergraduate students and 539 graduate students (89 face-to-face and 450 online) are served by 23 full-time faculty.

    In addition to the undergraduate BSW program, the School also offers both the Full-Program MSW and the Advanced Standing MSW options.

    All social work programs have been reaffirmed for accreditation through February 2026 by the CSWE. The University A metropolitan research university with over 26,000 students, Boise State is ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of the 'Top Up-and

    The 285-acre campus is located near downtown Boise on the south bank of the Boise River and includes more than 170 buildings.

    Salary and Benefits:
