    Job Title: Development Manager

    Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research (Rally), a nonprofit organization, empowers volunteers across the country to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer research to find better treatments with fewer long-term side effects and, ultimately, cures.

    Rally seeks an energetic individual to serve as the Development Manager in our Gulf Coast office in Pensacola, FL. This person will be a passionate advocate for childhood cancer research and will be responsible for managing fundraising strategies to increase organization support from individual donors, corporations, local businesses and other community affiliations.

    The candidate must be enthusiastic, understand working for a nonprofit and remain flexible and open when faced with opportunities and challenges. The Development Manager position is a fast-paced, multifaceted opportunity for a candidate who takes initiative and wants to work hard while gaining unparalleled knowledge, experience and growth.

    Job Purpose

    The Development Manager is responsible for managing the development of new and existing relationships and partnerships and executing assigned Rally fundraising programs and events, including achievement of annual revenue goals.

    • Development and Fundraising Duties and Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):Execute an integrated strategic plan for donor development, including strategies focused on community partnerships, institutional giving, foundation giving and donor stewardship.
    • Direct and manage fundraising activities for current, prospective and lapsed donors. Cultivation and stewardship activities will include thank you and discovery calls, face-to-face visits, mailings and invitation events.
    • Responsible for revenue growth and successful recruitment of new corporate partnerships.
    • Comfortability with public speaking in both large and small group settings.
    • Responsible for corporate partnership program, including an aggressive and engaging partnership development and sponsorship strategy.
    • Responsible for reaching sponsorship revenue goals for Rally Gulf Coast signature events by recruiting new and returning partners.
    • Support other Rally events, campaigns and projects as assigned.
    • Work with the Development Team to enhance the donor development program, by helping to identify major donor prospects, and soliciting individuals and institutions.
    • Responsible for achieving annual fundraising goals for individual/corporate/foundation donors.
    • Provide strategic direction for major external and community development activities such as corporate partnership development and committee leadership development.
    • Explore new opportunities for revenue growth.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree: preferably in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business or a related field.
    • Three to five years of experience in fundraising and/or campaign management as an employee or key volunteer in a leadership position.
    • Minimum of three years of development experience in fundraising with an emphasis on program coordination, campaign management and community relations as an employee or key volunteer in a leadership role.
    • Proven track record of raising funds from individuals and foundations, and maintaining those relationships.
    • Excellent understanding of the principles and techniques of development activities, such as annual giving and event planning.
    • Experience designing and implementing cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies for prospective donors.
    • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to the changing environments and priorities between the projects.
    • Strong interpersonal, organizational, networking, facilitation and management skills, while working independently and within a team-oriented structure.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking, negotiations and effective communication with diverse audiences, with the ability to speak persuasively.
    • Internet research savvy.
    • Innovative and entrepreneurial mindset and approach, including solutions to complex issues. Exercise good judgment and decision-making. Ability to work well under pressure. Ability to reason, think creatively and problem-solve.
    • Position requires absolute confidentiality as it pertains to the families we serve and the business the organization conducts.
    • Professionalism in appearance, attitude and presentation.
    • A self-starter with the ability to work productively to meet benchmarks and goals timely, without day-to-day supervision.
    • Database management and computer literacy (Microsoft Office), Salesforce experience a plus, but not required. Ability and willingness to learn database programs used within the organization.
    • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
    • Available a minimum of 40 hours a week.
    • Available and flexible to work some nights and weekends.
    • Ability to lift a minimum of 25lbs.
