Position Description
Do you enjoy educating patients on exceptional oral health habits? Do you want an opportunity to help the who need the most help ? The MPHD Lentz Dental Clinic is currently looking for a bright, motivated, Dental Hygienist like you to provide comprehensive dental care for children up to age 21.
This position will work in the Metro Nashville/Davidson County Schools.
This position will start July 29, 2024 for the school year.

Typical Duties
Performs dental sealant and dental prophylaxis procedures, as well as fluoride treatments as needed.
Works with patients to obtain and inspect dental images.
Assists in the promotion of dental health programs.
Conducts dental educational programs.
Educates patients in sound oral hygiene practices.
Serves as dental health resource person for nursing staff.
Conducts dental health educational activities in all types of assemblies.
Assists with the preparation of dental health educational materials.
Performs any expanded duty which may be delegated to a certified or registered dental assistant; keeps records and makes reports.
Graduation from an accredited school of dental hygiene; three (3) years' experience as a dental hygienist; and licensed to practice dental hygiene in the State of Tennessee.
Candidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply, however at the present time MPHD is not sponsoring individuals through any of the US Government's employment-based immigration programs.

Valid class "D" driver's license, use of personal vehicle, and maintenance of valid personal vehicle insurance as required by Tennessee Law.
Knowledge of the principles and consultative techniques of dental hygiene.
Knowledge of the methods and techniques involved in dental prophylaxis and fluoridation.
Knowledge of Tennessee dental laws and regulations.
Knowledge of the aims and services of a dental health program.
Full-time, Civil Service positions -10 Vacation Days per year (increasing after 5 years of service)
