    Job DescriptionSenior Buyer

    As a Senior Buyer, you will play a pivotal role in our procurement process, responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services to meet the organization's operational needs. Your expertise will be essential in driving cost savings, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely delivery of quality products. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in procurement, strong negotiation skills, and a strategic mindset to optimize purchasing processes. This is a Contract position located near Aurora, IL.

    Responsibilities:
    • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, conducting market research to assess product quality, pricing, and reliability.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers, negotiating favorable terms and agreements to secure the best value for the organization.
    • Monitor supplier performance, assessing metrics such as on-time delivery, quality, and responsiveness, and address any issues or concerns as needed.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and develop strategic sourcing plans to support organizational objectives.
    • Analyze procurement data and market trends to identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and supply chain optimization.
    • Develop and implement procurement strategies to mitigate risks, ensure continuity of supply, and drive operational efficiency.
    • Lead contract negotiations with suppliers, including pricing, terms, and service level agreements, to achieve favorable outcomes and maximize value for the organization.
    • Review and finalize contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and addressing any contractual issues or discrepancies.
    • Generate purchase orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring alignment with negotiated terms and specifications.
    • Monitor open purchase orders, track order status, and resolve any issues or delays to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
    • Collaborate with inventory management teams to optimize inventory levels, minimize excess or obsolete inventory, and ensure adequate stock to meet demand.
    • Analyze inventory data and usage patterns to forecast future demand and optimize replenishment strategies.
    • Promote supplier diversity initiatives, seeking opportunities to engage with minority-owned, women-owned, and small businesses to enhance the organization's supplier base.
    • Advocate for sustainable procurement practices, considering environmental and social factors in supplier selection and purchasing decisions.

    Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) preferred.
    • Proven experience in procurement or purchasing roles, with a minimum of [X] years in a senior buyer or equivalent position.
    • Strong negotiation skills, with a demonstrated ability to achieve favorable terms and agreements with suppliers.
    • Extensive knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
    • Proficiency in procurement software and systems (e.g., ERP, e-procurement platforms) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically, analyze complex information, and develop innovative procurement strategies.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

    • Pay is $26- $33 an hour depending on experience
