    Description

    Surgical Technologist- (CVOR) Cardiovascular

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • General, Neuro, Ortho, Robotics, Urology, GYN, Vascular
    • Certified Surgical Technologist; Certification in Operating Room Technology
    • Assemble and make available all necessary supplies according to requirements of thepatient and surgical procedure.
    • Provide special equipment before, during, and after surgical procedure, as needed.
    • Position patient; adjust table and accessories, as required for procedure.
    • Works collaboratively with Registered Nurse to prepare patients for surgical procedures to include all specialties, as appropriate, such as Cardiothoracic, Neurology, OB-GYN, ENT, Oral, Plastics, Orthopedics,
    • General-Vascular, Ophthalmology and GU as well as the minor surgical suite. The Surgical Technologist scrubs for the surgical procedures and performs a variety of other duties related to the preparation and maintenance of the operating room environment.
    • Maintains inventory of necessary equipment and supplies, orders supplies and restocks work area as assigned, assuring the availability of needed supplies.

    RN Operating Room - CVOR

    Responsibilities:

    • Performs circulating functions before surgery, including preparing the operating environment, orienting and assessing the patient, and reviewing patient's medical record and surgeon's notes to ensure all pre-requisites and preferences are net. Ensures safety checklists and procedures are implemented and documented at all times.
    • Performs circulating functions during surgery, including monitoring and communicating patient condition, documenting interventions and activities, monitoring the sterile field and controlling traffic into, out of and around the room.
    • Performs scrub functions, including the preparation, selection, and handling of instruments and supplies used during the surgical procedure and performs surgical counts with the circulating nurse.
    • Provides nursing care to a complex, high acuity surgical patient population in a technically complex environment.
    • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

    CVOR Registered Nurse Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Provide patient assessment, monitoring the patient's physical and emotional wellbeing
    • Create and maintain a sterile/safe surgical environment
    • Provide patient and family education
    • Integrate and coordinate patient care throughout the surgical process
