- Develop and Implement Curriculum: Design and implement differentiated curriculum and instruction to meet the needs of gifted and talented students.
- Identify and Assess Students: Identify students with gifts and talents through various assessment methods and collaborate with colleagues and parents to ensure accurate identification.
- Create Individualized Learning Plans: Develop and implement individualized learning plans (ILPs) for gifted and talented students based on their strengths, interests, and learning styles.
- Provide Enrichment Activities: Offer enrichment activities, projects, and opportunities that extend and deepen students' learning beyond the standard curriculum.
- Collaborate with Colleagues: Collaborate with other teachers, administrators, and specialists to support the needs of gifted and talented students and promote a school-wide culture of excellence.
- Communicate with Parents: Communicate regularly with parents to update them on their child's progress, share strategies for supporting learning at home, and address any concerns.
- Stay Updated on Best Practices: Stay current with research and best practices in gifted education and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
- Differentiated Instruction: Ability to tailor instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of gifted students, including providing acceleration, enrichment, and depth and complexity in learning activities.
- Understanding of Giftedness: Knowledge of the characteristics, traits, and social-emotional needs of gifted individuals, including asynchronous development, perfectionism, and intensity.
- Curriculum Development: Skill in developing challenging and stimulating curriculum that goes beyond the standard curriculum to engage and inspire gifted students.
- Assessment and Identification: Ability to use various assessment methods to identify gifted students and monitor their progress, including understanding the limitations and biases of standardized tests.
- Collaboration and Advocacy: Capacity to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and other professionals to advocate for the needs of gifted students and promote a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

- Licensed Arkansas Teacher with a background in gifted education that meets qualifications and requirements for reciprocity preferred or is eligible to hold appropriate licensure.
- Gifted and Talented Education endorsement or licensure is preferred or is eligible to hold appropriate licensure.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in education preferred.
- Have at least two (2) years of successful teaching or related experience as outlined in the job description.
- Experience with educational curriculum and program standards, including federal, state, and local assessments and standards
- Experience working in a highly collaborative environment where teamwork, creative problem-solving, and self-motivation are necessary for success.
- Experience in an urban school district is preferred.
- Knowledge of gifted and talented development of children in grades Prek-12.
- Knowledge of best instructional practices for gifted and talented development for all students in grades 6-12.
- Knowledge of differentiation strategies for advanced/high-ability learners in the content areas of math, science, English Language Arts, and social studies.
- Understanding of topics related to the general field of gifted and talented education.
- Knowledge of multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) for high-ability and advanced learners.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws/regulations as they pertain to gifted and talented education in Arkansas
- Knowledge of Arkansas Gifted and Talented program standards, development guidelines, educational theory, and developmentally appropriate instructional practices.
- Primary work setting is school and classroom-based. Attention to desk or computer tasks is required. This position is cognitively demanding and requires well-developed professional social and communication skills. Movement in and about schools and office buildings/grounds is a frequent requirement, as is the ability to carry or lift items 75 lbs. or less.

Position Summary: The Advanced Program Facilitator is responsible for designing and implementing a differentiated curriculum and providing specialized instruction to meet gifted and talented students' unique academic, social, and emotional needs. The teacher will collaborate with colleagues, parents, and other professionals to identify and support gifted students, develop individualized learning plans, and create a stimulating and challenging learning environment that fosters intellectual growth and creativity.
