    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Patient Scheduling Coordinator provides superior support and assistance to patients as they prepare for various Interventional Radiology (IR) and Vascular Surgery procedures. This role will coordinate with patients to obtain and verify relevant information that is needed and discuss protocols for their examinations and procedures. The PC supports the various staff and Radiologists by performing preparations prior to and following examinations and procedures. Will also be responsible for coordinating procedure scheduling with health system partners.

    POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Obtains and completes relevant scheduling procedure/imaging paperwork.
    • Reviews and verifies patient demographics.
    • Verif y all required paperwork, labs, clearances are uploaded to EMR.
    • Coordinates between the health system scheduling department, the patient and the Practice.
    • Directly manages the Physician's procedure schedule.
    • Coordinate, manage, and verify insurance prior authorizations and verifications.
    • Assist practice team answer phone calls coming into the practice and follow-up with missed calls.
    • Schedule clinic patients as needed and communicate with facility employees regarding each patient.
    • Send appointment reminders and follow-ups via calls or emails.
    • Optimizing provider schedules and patient satisfaction with efficient scheduling.
    • Scanning pertinent patient information into EMR including patient authorizations and recent labs delivered by patients.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.
    • Always ensures a professional attitude and appearance.
    • Consistently demonstrates good judgment.
    • Consults with co-workers and supervisors as necessary.
    • Adheres to all Practice policies and procedures, including HIPAA, OSHA, licensing, accreditation guidelines, and any other required compliance standards.
    • Review's policy and procedure manuals on an annual basis.

    DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

    • High School Diploma
    • Prior medical office experience preferred
    • Comprehension of medical terminology
    • Computer experience
    • Must convey a pleasant, professional manner and demonstrate excellent patient care and customer service skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Must demonstrate excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Must demonstrate strong adherence to safety standards
