    Job Title: Senior IT Data Analyst

    General Function

    Experienced analytics professional and highly proficient in data manipulation, visualization, organization and analysis; in addition, this person will mentor less experienced staff on their technical and professional development.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities
    • Visualizes data using visualization tools (primarily Power BI).
    • Identify, extracts, and cleans appropriate data for any given business problem small or large, simple or complex.
    • Able to piece together data from unknown sources or domains on their own.
    • Knowledgeable and aware of many analytical modeling techniques.
    • Able to choose the most appropriate model for a given business problem.
    • Ability to troubleshoot analysis and reporting from end to end.
    • Easily read through and identify issues of code with limited exposure.
    • Expert knowledge of Power BI (or other visualization tools of choice).
    • Experience with report deployment, monitoring and documentation.
    • Lead collaboration in the creation or maintenance of data model designs
    • Responsible for identification and implementation of data policies, standards, and procedures.

    • Has a thorough understanding of their team's domain, strategy, and how it maps to overall market trends.
    • Has a thorough understanding of adjacent teams' strategies and how they map to their team and interaction points.
    • Advises customers and/or business analysts on discrete technology-related business problems, leveraging appropriate IT colleagues and/or vendors as appropriate.
    • Formulates options including assessing their relative merits and risks, and works to determine the best solution.
    • Is aware of when regulatory issues are applicable and who to engage to address any concerns.
    • Demonstrates an advanced understanding of the relevant data management and analytics tools and technologies for the area supported.
    • Demonstrates an advanced understanding of data life cycle Management (DLCM)
    • Acts as a resource to others on the existing data supporting a business area.
    • Serves as a key resource to ensure the data is fit for purpose.
    • Works independently and provides guidance within technical area, applying in-depth knowledge of multiple technologies and business processes, as appropriate.
    • Understands architectural issues, and factors them into decisions and recommendations.
    • Provides leadership in their area(s) of technical specialization.
    Experience and Education
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field is preferred.
    • 5+ years' experience as a Data Analyst
    Supervisory Responsibilities (Direct Reports)
    • May manage the technical design and/or serve as the technical lead for small and large projects.
    • With minimal support, analyzes vendor proposals, evaluates build versus buy, and formulates significant components of a project plan.
    • Conducts, provides and is accountable for the accuracy of work estimates.
    • Anticipates changes to the project estimate and escalates accordingly.
    • Coordinates with vendors necessary to complete the project, as appropriate.

    • Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near range with or without correction.
    • Must be physically able to perform sedentary work: operating a computer, occasionally lifting or carrying objects of no more than 10 pounds, and occasionally standing or walking.
    • Must be able to perform the following physical activities: meeting with customers, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
    Working Conditions

    The duties for this position are performed in a general or remote office setting. There is weekly pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a day.
