    Do you have a strong working knowledge of leave of absence policies and procedures? Do you have a customer service mindset, with impeccable attention to detail and follow through? Is a passion for HR and people practice part of your DNA? If so, we are looking for a Risk Coordinator.


    Main Focus:

    • Process and investigate Workers Compensation, FMLA and Disability claims in a timely manner.
    • Determine eligibility for benefits based on legal regulations and company policies.
    • Assist in determining eligibility for returning to work upon the end of the claim.
    • Provide excellent service to the internal customer, by assisting employees with all aspects of the claims process. Provide frequent and detailed updates to employees and managers regarding all stages of the claim.
    • Ensure that managers comply with all leave policies and procedures from a legal and company policy standpoint.
    • Perform transactional data entry into electronic claims system (and other systems as needed) with a high degree of accuracy. Follow all processes, including scanning, organizing, filing and updating documentation.
    • Ensure impeccable record keeping in company HRIS system.
    • Prepare for and attend incident investigation and claims review meetings.
    • Serve as a back up to the PFL administrator.
    • Run reports on required metrics.
    • Responsible for maintaining and protecting personal health information. Must maintain a high level of confidentiality.
    • Assist in HR initiatives as needed.

    Position Requirements:

    • Degree desired.
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in HR with specific experience handling a high volume of inquiries.
    • Working knowledge of FMLA, NYPFL, Disability and Worker's Comp.
    • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint). Advanced skills a plus.
    • Experience with HRIS systems. UKG experience is highly beneficial.
    • Bilingual strongly preferred (English and Spanish).
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong time management, analytical and problem-solving skills.

    Salary Range:
    $31.00-$34.00 hourly rate.

    It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range.

    Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained.

    Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
