Manager, Physical Security Systems - Long Beach, CA

Job summary
Vast is looking for a Manager of Physical Security Systems & Technology to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations. This will be a full-time exempt position located in our Long Beach location.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee architecture, design and implementation of integrated security systems including: Access Control badge provisioning permissions and secure zone design Video Surveillance high-definition IP camera networks coverage layout plans analytic-triggered alerts on-prem video storage solutions Intrusion Detection Systems perimeter internal breach sensors motion detection alarm notification systems Visitor Management Platforms integration with access control credential vetting real-time tracking Integration License Plate Recognition into an enterprise system Project Management Deployment Lead full lifecycle of security system projects from requirements gathering vendor RFPs to implementation commissioning across multiple facilities Own site-specific security build-outs for minor major retrofits blueprint review hardware selection cable infrastructure coordination Serve as technical SME for systems troubleshooting firmware updates NVR configuration storage redundancy video analytics tuning Maintain system performance benchmarks reporting dashboards across KPIs uptime alert fidelity access anomalies system audit trails Administer centralized management enterprise security tools badge databases camera license management retention policies failover backups Respond urgent troubleshooting forensic requests Diagnosing downed readers cameras misconfigured readers offline systems Establish preventative maintenance schedules spare parts inventories maximize uptime all systems Manage integration automation opportunities platforms linking alarm events camera presets layering camera views building maps user provisioning access alerts internal comms Author enforce standards CCTV access control Vasts facilities minimum coverage areas pixel density storage duration encryption compliance data protection laws Collaborate Legal Compliance Facilities teams ensure all systems support operational needs meet regulatory standards ITAR EAR Evaluate new technologies work stay aware benefit Vast AI-powered solutions biometric authentication LPR drone detection more Minimum Qualifications years experience managing physical security specific expertise enterprise CCTV infrastructure Bachelor degree Security Information Systems Engineering equivalent technical field Certifications PSP PMP Genetec Security Center Certified Milestone Advanced Certification Lenel Onguard Expert CISSP Proficiency platforms Lenel Genetec Milestone Avigilon HID Global Axis Communications Demonstrated success overseeing multisite global deployments architecture responsibilities networked security VLAN segmentation PoE devices storage redundancy hardening Experience designing commissioning installing partnerships electrical engineers contractors integrators Strong communication skills stakeholder interaction vendor management post-incident reporting Familiarity cybersecurity considerations physical default credential firmware vulnerabilities segregation Additional Requirements Willingness work outside normal business hours weekends critical mission milestones perform work others arent property Ability travel percent time Positive solution-focused attitude Excellent verbal written communication skills Strong analytical problem-solving skills Ability act integrity professionalism confidentiality Proficient Microsoft Office Suite related software}
