    The Summit Area YMCA (SAY) is seeking a efficient, energetic team member to help maintain the facilities cleanliness at The Summit YMCA and Berkeley Heights YMCA branches.

    This position is responsible for providing a clean, sanitary, comfortable, and orderly environment for members, guests, and employees.

    This part time position scheduled between 20-25 hours per week. The position starts at $16.50/ hour and is based on experience. The scheduled hours include Monday
    • Friday 4:00pm 9:00pm and or Sundays 7 am 12:00pm and Wednesdays 5:00am 12:00pm.

    Essential Functions:
    Maintain facility in a clean and sanitary condition.

    Specific duties to include on a scheduled basis, but not limited to:
    Dust furniture, light fixtures, window sills, Empty and dispose of trash, recyclables, and other disposable materials daily. Wet mop all corridor floors, lobby, restrooms, locker rooms and others daily. Clean locker rooms daily, including showers, sinks, commodes, floors, etc. Replenish paper supplies in bathrooms, locker rooms, fitness center, etc. Clean all air vents. Make sure all glass doors and walls are cleaned throughout the day. Clean carpets, rugs, and upholstered furniture when needed. Dust and clean furniture and equipment in fitness center. Assist in laundering of towels, where applicable. Wash windows as scheduled.
    Operate various mechanized cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, etc.
    Use various cleaning solvents, chemicals, etc., and comply with all regulations such as OSHA, EPA, etc.

    Report any needed repairs immediately to supervisor (such as leaky faucets or toilets, loose tile, broken window panes, missing nuts and screws, etc.)Use safety precautions in all housekeeping services.

    Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

    Requirements A High School Diploma or equivalent.
    Prior experience in housekeeping duties preferred.
    Experience working with the public is desirable.
    Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    Attention to detail.
    Minimum age requirement is 18 years old.

    Salary Description Starting at $16.50/ hour
