    What You Will Do:
    • Pleasantly greets patient, introduces self, confirms patient identification, and explains procedures in a manner that is understood.
    • Assists physician during Interventional Radiology procedures including angiography, biliary drainages, nephrostomy & biopsies.
    • Performs general, diagnostic x-rays as needed.
    • Provides imaging in the surgical setting for diagnostic and vascular cases as needed.
    • Receives consultation request checking for special instructions, consults with Physicians as needed. Pleasantly greets patients confirming their identification and introduces self.
    • Selects and operates equipment appropriately and/or per manufacturer and industry guidelines.
    • Follows prescribed techniques in administering x-rays. (Adjusts equipment; selects appropriate exposure parameters; arranges immobilization and support devices to obtain position of patient; adjusts lead shield, and selects proper image receptor.) Able to adjust & select proper technical factors on an individual patient basis.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of all supplies (catheters, guide wires, etc.) and assists with proper billing and inventory control.
    • Able to utilize the hospital information system/Radiology information system to access pertinent patient records and reports. Ability to enter orders and appropriately complete the imaging study in the RIS to taken status.
    • Obtains appropriate patient history and documents relevant data.
    • Proper use of equipment, reporting malfunctions to proper personnel.
    • Trains technologists in Interventional Radiology area. Teaches clinical affiliated students.
    • Lifts, moves, and transports patients via wheelchair or cart. Positions patients as needed for procedures.
    • Identifies problems and communicates appropriately to immediate supervisor, offers solutions as appropriate.
    • Available for emergency cases on a rotational basis.
    • Select Interventional Radiology Staff will work in diagnostic radiology and/or CT Department and must comply with the job description for these modalities as it pertains to individual responsibilities within this role.
    • Starts IVs as needed.
    What You Will Need:
    • Must be ARRT Registered Technologist and maintain requirements for the registry. Maintain licensure by State of Ohio, Department of Health.
    • Interventional Radiology experience desirable, but not required.
    • Must be certified in CPR and maintain certification.
    • Proficient in setting up and maintaining sterile field.
    • Ability to work in an environment that is fast-paced and requires multi-tasking.
    • Uses proper body mechanics. Ability to push, pull, and/or lift patient from carts, wheelchairs, or other transport devices, onto imaging table/couch.
