We are currently looking to add a Manufacturing Engineer Intern to our team at our Northeast Philadelphia, PA facility.     Kingsbury, Inc. was founded in 1912 and is the leader in the design and manufacture of tilt-pad fluid film thrust and journal bearings for all types of rotating machinery, with thousands of installations worldwide. The Company is comprised of a Corporate office (Philadelphia, PA), two (2) manufacturing facilities (Philadelphia, PA and Oshkosh, WI) and two (2) repair and service facilities (Philadelphia, PA and Yuba City, CA) located in the United States. In addition, Kingsbury has one (1) manufacturing facility located in Göttingen Germany.

    Job Purpose:

    The Kingsbury Internship Program is a 10-week summer program that provides interns with practical experience working on relevant projects within the Kingsbury Manufacturing Engineering Department.

    As the Manufacturing Engineer Intern, the team member will:

    • Work with members of the Manufacturing Team on current opportunities for improvement.
    • Utilize CAD tools to develop new or existing fixtures and tools/special cutters. (AUTOCAD or Inventor)
    • Maintain, fixture/Tools in Syteline under the direction of Manufacturing Engineering.
    • Work with the Shop Floor Operators to develop optimum fixture configuration and performance if needed.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Abilities and Other Skills:

    Language: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

    Mathematical: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

    Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.

    Required Education and Experience:

    Currently working toward and engineering degree from an accredited University or College; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
