    Job DescriptionSummary of Job Purpose

    Mountain Patrol is a team-oriented department focused on providing our guests with excellent customer service on or off the mountain. In addition to emergency rescues and mountain safety, Mountain patrollers are hosts, guides and information centers.

    The primary job focus is to answer phones, assist aid room guests, call and dispatch patrollers as needed, document all happenings during the day of mountain operations. Examples would be injuries, chair lift opening times, chair lift early closure times, chair lift code 9 and or code 10, lost persons, EMS ambulance and/or helicopter pickups, etc..

    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    Duties:

    • Coordinate aid room and dispatch operations using 1Risk dispatch system.
    • Maintain patrol daily log, document weather data, lift open and close times, etc.
    • Review daily, all Mountain patrol incident report forms and report any problems to the Patrol Manager
    • Handle emergency calls and dispatch personnel.
    • Receive transfer of care of code from Mountain Patroller
    • Take part in assisting with patient care and reporting problems.
    • Inventory of base patrol supplies and equipment.
    • Assist with documentation during S.A.R.
    • Assist with documentation during lift evacuations.
    • Maintain weekly summary sheet.
    • Maintain medical release forms.
    • Ensure the completion of daily patrol aid room work logs.
    • Effectively communicate with other departments as needed.
    • Maintain safe and easy access in and around the aid room.
    • Keep adequate stock of all forms utilized in patrol aid room.
    • Maintain any appropriate records as set forth by company policy and procedures.
    • Provide timely and accurate information concerning weather conditions, grooming or slope conditions and related information intended to help the guest maximize their Mountain experience.
    • Communicate problems to superiors, while showing initiative in handling routine and emergency matters.
    Job Qualifications
    • Positive attitude and enthusiasm.
    • Ability to read and to write legibly and to use good composition skills to complete records and report forms.
    • Heavy and awkward lifting up to 50lbs
    • Must be aware of the Mountain areas terrain and facilities.
    • EMT OR OEC and CPR/AED and/or EMR certification required.
    • Basic mathematical skills and good organizational skills.
    • Proficient in operating Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft Suite and Google Suite
    • Ability to learn and be knowledgeable of the needs of the equipment and standard procedures for its care and safe operation.
    • Must be well groomed and present a good public image.
    • Good physical condition as this position requires shoveling, lifting and carrying.
    • Safety and risk oriented.
    • Requires the skills of a host. This involves approaching guests in a courteous manner, inquiring if they have any questions and being able to respond professionally.

    Work Schedules

    Weather conditions and the number of guests play a large role in the work scheduling of Dodge Ridge mountain employees. When conditions are normal, you can expect to work up to 8 hours per day. Work schedules, staffing levels and weather conditions may dictate when lunches and breaks will be taken.

    Uniforms

    To project a professional appearance at Dodge Ridge your department requires a uniform be worn, including a nametag. Please wear both at all times during your scheduled shift. Keep your uniform clean and in good repair.
