We are located on the Queens and Nassau County border, in close proximity to Manhattan. The department layout includes 33 individual patient exam rooms and 2 critical care/trauma bays. We are the busiest American College of Surgeons Pediatric Level 1 Trauma Center in NY state. Our volume is approximately 70,000 visits a year. We have a dedicated behavioral health area, as well as a behavioral health urgicenter. Our amazing and highly skilled nursing staff recently received the highest ranking in Magnet designation and were a recipient of the Lantern award from the Emergency Nurse s Association. Amongst our staff are experts in Global Health, Child Abuse, Ultrasound, Emergency Management, Pediatric Transport, Trauma, Quality, Advocacy/Gun Violence Prevention and Research.
