    Responsibilities
    The Department of Art Education at Florida State University seeks a new tenure-track Associate Professor and Invites applications from scholars with a commitment to social justice art education and the ability to further our mission to empower people to empower people through the arts.

    Qualified and interested candidates will oversee master's programming (certification or non-certification) in Art Education, offering residential and online courses with opportunities for engaging in ongoing curricular development and recruitment activities. This unique opportunity will entail collaborating with others to meet best practice guidelines for residential and distance learning course design and implementation, as well as working closely with recruitment staff at the College level to grow enrollment. The Department also expects the candidate to supervise theses and dissertations, when qualified. The teaching load is 6 credit-hours per semester.

    Additional responsibilities will include research, committee work, curriculum development across the Art Education program, service to the university, community, and professional activities in the field that are consistent with departmental expectations.

    Qualifications
    A doctorate degree in Art Education or a closely related field

    An emerging or established record of published research

    Experience teaching K-12 art and familiarity with licensure

    Evidence of strong communication and interpersonal skills

    Preferred Qualifications
    Availability to teach a six-week summer session to per-service teachers.

    Experience developing and delivering residential and distance learning courses at the higher education level.
