- Manage the daily operations of the mill.
- Act as a hands-on manager in the mill operation and supervise staff.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure safe product processing to meet production schedule requirements and help with organizing run order.
- Adhere to quality guidelines and food safety standards.
- Set team objectives and assess performance within the Mill on a weekly basis.
- Provide continual positive and constructive feedback, including necessary disciplinary measures.
- Effectively communicate with all manufacturing facility departments.
- Train new and current team members on SOPs and ensure SOP compliance.
- Manage time clock records and oversee time off for the Mill team.
- Aid in coordinating facility deliveries.
- Support Mill Coordinator with inventory matters, cycle retire issues, and rework usage.
- Create and update work requests as needed, working with maintenance to schedule preventive maintenance activities like hammer changes and ordering wear parts.
- Handle pertinent vendor contracts and ensure efficiency improvements across all mill positions.
- Perform mill sanitation duties as required.
- Must have 3-5 years of management experience.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office and the ability to learn inventory management and ERP systems.
- Demonstrate strong leadership and communication capabilities.
- Aptitude for working in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.
